Key West City Commissioners in Florida have said that plans to have a referendum to allow voters to opt to change the use of some land for naturist use would cause confusion and now the referendum won't take place.
Commissioner Clayton Lopez advised that he does support naturists having a place to go in comfort.
Mayoral candidate Sloan Bashinsky said the commissioners did not have the political courage to make the decision to go for a referendum.
Commissioner Bill Verge joined the rest of the commission in killing the referendum, ignoring Sloan's comments.
