Alton Towers 2007

Back to Index

Wow! What a magical and fun filled weekend at Alton Towers. That’s fun spelt with a capital B and a capital N. Andrew and his team totally exceeded my expectations and I’m now completely hooked on the whole idea of practising naturism at well known attractions such as Alton Towers. I am already working on the weekend passes for 2008. I thought that the accommodation at Splash Landings was very clean, comfortable and well presented. The customer service at the front desk, bars, restaurants and poolside was superb. I especially appreciate those lifeguards who braved the elements outside to help ensure our safety. Also let’s not forget the security staff who very pleasant and did a superb job. In my opinion all the staff involved deserve employee of the month recognition for November. They are a credit to the hotel and leisure industry in this country, and I shall definitely return in future at other times of the year, not just for BN events. Despite being very busy Jo, the duty manager always seemed to find the time to stop and chat to the guests. It felt good to meet some of my fellow buffers (Mother, Jim, Pat, Kevin, and ukonlyjpc – great user name eh?) at last from the www.inthebuff.co.uk naturist community. I talked, danced and shared a joke or two with these wonderful people who up until now I’d only known through e-mail and forums on the site. The warmth and friendship of this friendly crowd helped make my visit to Stoke a memorable one. If you join the community you’ll find me logged in there as user id “Sam”, feel free to say hello. Hey, Denny if you’re reading this you’ll be jealous that Pat asked me to dance a slow dance with her (lol). Hope to see you here next year. It was also very rewarding for me to be able to mix a little with the younger crowd and all of the YBNers I met were willing to stop and chat a while with an older buffer. Although I still don’t know the names of any of the tracks I enjoyed the opportunity to listen to their kind of music. If possible next year I’d like to hear live music perhaps on Friday night and have the option to check out later on the Sunday morning. I used the Spa in the Alton Towers hotel which was absolutely fantastic even though it was non-naturist; it would be good to have that facility next year as part of the attractions, even if only for set sessions. No complaints at all except perhaps for the delayed “St Algernon’s Meat Feast” pizza which eventually arrived for Mother & I at table 19 – thanks to Michelle and her colleague who dealt quickly and professionally with our little problem; caused by a computer “glitch” would you believe (my area of expertise, will be writing to the hotel’s IT group shortly – lol!). Last word goes to thank the ever smiling Zoe at reception on the Carriba Creek who fell every time for my little wise crack “please could you tell me where the changing rooms are?” and always responded with a cheery and professional “just through the double doors and turn right please Sir!” (lol). Well done BN. I shall look forward all year to my next splash landing at Alton Towers.
