Art on the Other Side of the Common

Back to Index

Given the recent tragedies in the news, the heavy media interest focusing onthe bad and uglier side of life in the cities, it is at these timesthat we need to remember how fortunate we are to live in a greatvillage with relatively little crime.

The media coverage of recent events and the "hoodie" phenomenadoesn't help the youth's of today in their quest to make their way inthe world.

It was with great delight to see an enterprising young man named Josh Lovell taking over Eton Wick's village hall today in order toexhibit his own art work. The art itself was a good quality showing agood base on which (personal opinion here) he should work and developand in time he will realise that art is just as much about what theartist enjoys painting as what enjoyment and satisfaction he can gain from knowing that his art is enjoyed by others.

His reason behind the exhibition was to raise money for a trip to Africa to help build a village school.

If only the media would pick up on the young people that are making a difference, perhaps we'd all get a better nights sleep.

And if you are thinking, art is so boring - check out http://www.jackieadshead.co.uk/ for something just a little bit different.

And for those thinking - what's he wittering on about - sorry :) just had to blog it.
