It all started when the wife & I went on holiday to Gran Canaria in March. It was quite expensive because we always go all inclusive. We decided that we rarely drink alcohol and dont eat much so all inclusive was a waste of money. I suggested a self catering place somewhere with a bit of privacy for a little naked sunbathing. Wifey agreed (although I dont think she really thought it would come off).
First day back at work and what had a ppeared on the notice board? An advert from one of our retired drivers advertising a mobile home 30 miles north of Alicante. I e-mailed him for further details and he sent back pictures of the place, and details of prices etc.
I consulted wifey who said it looked good and if I could get the whole week for both of us including flights, mobile home and hire car for less than £350 then we would go. Guess what - I worked it out at £347. Wifey agreed.
I e-mailed the owner and said we were interested in booking for the week and asked if it was overlooked at all as we were naturists. He sent an e-mail back with pics of two villas abhout 500 metres away which are rarely occupied. Great! I booked the mobile home at £90 per week, hire car at £85 for week and the flights from Heathrow for £172. Then the owner e-mailed me and said he had re-read my first e-mail and asked what sort of naturist was I? I replied the type without clothes. He said that he would make some arrangements.
We flew Heathrow to Bracelona with BA (verygood - loads of space and food). Then we flew Iberia Barcelona to Alicante (ok - no food - loads of space). They managed to leave a suitcase behind in Barcelona that had all wifeys clothes in. We picked it up next day.
Picked up the hire car (a Ka) and had to pay 47 euros for a full tank of petrol and told to bring it back empty (will do - even if I have to suck the petrol out before I return the car).
After an unscheduled de=tour via Benidorm, we eventualy found the owners villa and were greeted by owners wife, her mother in law and a noisy dog. I was somewhat disappointed that the mobile home was behind the villa in full view of the owners patio, pool and a public road all within about 50 metres. Ah well! At least it was sunny.
Now it turns out that they had various guests staying in the villa during the week too. This involved several trips to the airport for the owners and while the cats away.... we used their pool - butt naked and who gives a damn about the local traffic problem it created. The whole week was spent by me mostly inside the caravan without clothes wishing them away or dashing to the pool for a quick dip. We spent 7 days doing absolutely nothing except shopping in the villages for fresh fruit and bread etc.
On the whole it was very relaxing. A pleasant mobile home and great views. Great weather. Good company (wifey). We decided we could do self catering but next time it would be a villa with private pool and grounds so that I could get that all-over tan. Upshot is, nice place if you like to read a book wrapped in a cozzie - not so good if you like to be ITB.
p.s. The 'arrangements' that the owner allowed for was to find out where the nearest naturist beaches were. They were by the airport and about an hours drive away. We didnt bother to tell him that about 5 miles north of him there was a naturist complex! Will let you know about the next place we try.
