Following my earlier post I was in the vicinity of Alexandra Palace yesterday, and so decided to visit the Elixir Health Spa. It turned out to be exactly as it describes itself - a naturist venue run for and by naturists. I wanted a proper naturist massage and for an hour was relaxed by the gentle touch of my masseur and entertained by her happy and relaxed conversation. Thanks N., a lovely experience.
It is quite a small place but offers sauna, steam and spa in addition to the massage. The staff are all naturist, friendly and helpful. Because it was late I didn't have a chance to meet many other clients but the few I met were friendly. On my way back I dropped in to Rio's and the comparisons could not be more stark. Rio's is big and has great facilities and space but Elixir is friendly and welcoming and, most importantly for me, makes you feel that social nakedness is natural. Would I go to Elixir again? Certainly! Would I recommend it? If you are able to take it as it presents itself, yes, definitely.
