On the first adult contact site I joined I very quickly discovered that meeting people through it was expensive. Unless you subscribed somewhere between £50 and £150 per year you couldn't actually contact anyone. I didn't pay and had a lonely time until I discovered blogging!
Now, those of you who begrudge £6 a year for ITB really should go and look at some of these American sites - the one I joined as a free member has 22million members around the world and a conservative guess would put its income at 30-70 million Dollars a year, which buys a lot of hardware and technical expertise. Personally I think those sites are like the old Soho clip-joints - they separate you from your money for nil return - except for two features, blogs and self publishing - which are ace and addictive. In fact most of the bloggers I know on the one site I'm hooked on, long ago gave up trying to meet people, they blog them instead.
I told myself I wasn't gong to start blogging here, and here I go again. It is so bloody addictive!!!
Bottom line though - I love ITB! It is warm, friendly and people actually contact you and chat and swap stories like a real community. It is about as far removed from the US clip-sites as it is possible to get. I've paid my £6 and I'd pay ten times that to keep this site the way it is. I'm new and may be out of line but please, please pay you £6 so we can all continue to enjoy something that is absolutely priceless...
