We have just returned from the island. Our last visit was early 2004. At El Cotillo there has been a building explosion in the last 2 years. Hundreds more apartments have been built & later this year 2 large hotels are due to open. There is a plan to build a golf course there as well. A parade of shops has been built & there is a fish & chip shop. A supermarket sells British products. This has had a bad effect for naturists on EL Cotillo beaches. There are many many more textiles using the beach. Last Sunday 21 May Apart from the 3 of us I only saw 2 other naturist couples on the crowded beach.. A British family of mum,dad & son who for 3 days had stripped off, wore costumes on Sunday.!!!! I walked the whole length of the beach either side of Bar Tirino itself new since our last visit & a British boy who saw me ran out of the water shouting O my God, O my God. Those who know the two Large Hotels by the dunes In Corrello will be surprized to hear that a Spanish Government Minister wants them pulled down for contravening coastal law, & the coast road closed.
