I've just posted a few photos of me taken over the Easter weekend. Boy, doesn't that pale body show just what a long, grey winter we've had!

Not exactly everyone's favourite holiday destination, especially for getting naked, and maybe not really a holiday as I've been going there two or three times a year for nearly 14 years. But I meet up with friends and, as for the nudity, at least there are places you can go, in the open, where you won't be thought weird.

One such place is where the photos were taken - Danube Island. This wwas created a few years back when a diversion or second arm of the Danube was created to stop flooding. This created not only the Island but also an area of small lakes and channels in the Lobau area when the waters subsided. On the Island both north and south ends are officially naturist. I'm not sure that the Lobau is official but it is certainly nudist tollerant. In fact, you can walk from Neue Donau underground station and trip over folk sunbathing and walking about happily naked, not being bothered or reported long before you get to the official areas.

On this trip I managed to roam about naked (in the official area) for just over an hour on a changeable day. Folk were walking and cycling and line-skating past on the path and took no notice of me at all even though I was walking naked in the open and they will have seen me.

That relaxed attitude and acceptance of nudity is so refreshing and why I love going to Austria. Hopefully it will be nudist weather by the time I go back in August.
