A comment came from BN on Facebook about the Sexual and other serious misbehaviour of some of the users of this beach.

It is centred around sexual activity and other conduct. You are being urged that if you know who might be responsibe, for any sort of sexual, threatening or harressing behaviour, please get in touch with BN or the Police.

It said. that we either stand up for good behaviour on naturist beaches or we deserve to loose them.

I agree with BN

BN needs to lead here so I support the initiative.

Never seen anything at Holkham (apart from lovely views)

Having visited Holkham beach for over 20 years, cannot recall seeing any inappropriate behaviour (apart from the dune meerkhats). Are we blind or have we been fortunate in leaving too early before the shenanigans commence? Is this sort of activity time related? I'm assuming it occurs in the dunes as the sea breeze on the beach itself tends to dampen any ardour! lol

Norman and Katie, Presume

Norman and Katie,

Presume that it does not go on all the time as even with the aid those pills that are constantly being advertised, there would be a limit on how long the effect would last. Think the complaints relate in part to some of the 'Meercats' and the 'Look at mine - isn't it big' brigade as well of those that are prepared to risk getting sand in sensitive parts.

We were told that when some of the people in the above categories were challanged and asked or told to 'clear off' they became more than a little abusive.

Now updated reports on Radio Norfolk

Radio Norfolk now reports that Police are now making beach patrols, both in a high visibility vehicle and on foot with the beach warden. A Police Sgt was interviewed and he said both individuals and groups of males on the beach had received warnings about 'improper behaviour' with one man being arrested and appearing in court. A spokesman from BN gave an overview of the situation and distanced Naturists from those meeting on the beach for sexual purposes.

Obviously, there are crys for the beach to be closed to naturists due to the behaviour of the 'pervy' element.

Norfolk dweller

As a Norfolk dweller I have to say that I think it's wonderful that there isn't any serious crime in the county, which allows the police limitless time to visit Holkham to prise out the "pervy" (whatever that means) element.
Yes, OK, I also cringe to see people displaying themselves on the ridge of the dunes, but - come on buffers - aren't there more important things to worry about in life?

Yes, it is true that there

Yes, it is true that there are probably more important crimes out there, but at the same time the behavior of some needs to be curbed as it acts like a magnet to others if they know they will not be challenged.
We have not long come back from Vera Playa in Spain (a 4 k long nudist beach) where armed Police patrol the beach about every 30 minutes, It makes it feel much more of a family safe environment without the gaggle of single guys hanging around the back of the beach.

Ban Holkham Group

I think it has been established who is involved with this group which was on Face Book and the 'Dis-information' that has come from this source. Some joined, and have later been removed as members of ITB.
