Naturism - nature or nurture?
Is wanting to be naked all the time a genetic disposition or a cultural phenomenon?
I have just watched the first 'Twins' programme on BBC1 and they didn't ask this question. I don't know why they just didn't. It seems that many behaviours and personality traits are strongly influenced by genetics not just physical attributes or probabilities of developing diseases.
There are few examples of 100% genetic correlations in behaviours between identical twins. But there are many examples where behaviours are similar between them even where they have been brought up in different cultures.
I am from a large family and we were not brought up as naturists. However I have always liked being naked from being a very small boy and would take every opportunity take my clothes off. Whenever I was alone at home or in my room I would strip off. I have slept in the nude all my life as far as I can remember only wearing pyjamas when I was in hospital.
So I wonder.......nature or nurture?

I think for some it is a lifestyle choice and are comfortable with themselves, however i think their could be some correlation to the fact that some people hate the restriction of clothing, I was the same when I was younger although my family were not naturists I loved being naked and the freedom I felt and brought me, so lets go for a foot in each camp
