Invite.

Thought I replied last night but must have clicked the wrong box. Nobody's a stranger in Café Nudo, all welcome. Strictly no discrimination.

Do I take it that was an open invite to us all for tea at your gaff?

Café

I was just ruminating of course, but I'm sure there are enough people in London to support a naked venue like that. More tea vicar?

Naked Cafe

What a marvelous idea. I can see that it may not be a viable proposition though. The best way for a cafe to operate is to be open 24/7 almost, so that you can pop in for a bite and coffee anytime.
The publicity would be great of course. Imagine the hudlines..'Pop-in 4 T and Bum'. 'Cafe Boob'. The Naked Chef goes large'. etc etc.
Mind you, it would only need a small location that was warm and cosy. You would need small gym-like towels for customer to use though, I dont carry one around with me all the time when I need a coffee.
As for cafe names - just to start - how about
Hang Out Cafe.

Allan, a naturist pub or

Allan, a naturist pub or cafe would be a great idea. I think that given the population London has surprisingly few naturist facilities. The question is whether a sufficient demand exists to support such a venture (other than from ourselves of course).
Another idea, before buying a cafe or whatever, might be to try and hire a suitable one, or a room above a pub for an evening. It might be case of persuading the owner to open outside of normal hours. There might well be half a chance of organizing something on that basis.

London Venues

It's a shame the weather is not on our side this summer. I went to Eureka on the bank holiday; my first visit for about 3 years. The skies were overcast and hardly anyone braved the outdoors. Indoors, the facilities are great but it is overtly swinging orientated, which is something I hadn't felt on my previous visit.

I have yet to try Rios or Elixir, but I'm hoping somebody sets up a naturist pub or café where we can pop into in the long winter months. How many naturists live in London? Maybe it's time to write a business plan myself. Any suggestions?

Inside the M25, indeed, inside the North/South Circulars, there's Elixir & Rios.

Rios is larger, more facilities, more folk and clothes optional. It has a couple of naturist evenings mid-week.

Elixir is smaller, more friendly, great massage. More naturist.

Personally, I prefer Elixir.

I was going to suggest that perhaps a go / no - go decision might be required on Saturday. However the forecast is pretty dire, so it probably was better to call it off sooner than later.

I agree with dave, last time (and only time) I went, the topic of conversation for the whole afternoon was about swinging. Maybe I hit it at the wrong time, and I certainly didnt notice anything going on, but that was the impression I got. Nice place though.
Rios is one of those places where people wear towels. Weird!

Bloody weather

Well I suppose its the sensible thing to do - the weather is just to horrible this year. Plans for 2009 should include a meeting in the south of france, might get a bit of sunshine there.

I've never been to rios but have been to Eureka 3 times, its great in the day with a hot tub and heated swimming pool but unless you are interested in swinging activity I would avoid the evening parties.

Yes I have to agree. I'm going to take a rain-check on Spielplatz for now. Shame because I was really looking forward to it.
I checked out the BN forums for London and I'm amazed that so little naturist activity happens here. Does anyone know of a good indoor venue for Naturism?

Should we make a decision now then to "postpone" the day till summer returns. Might be able to get a day when more can join us?
Looks like we should make plans for summer 2009 !

Summer?

I'm afraid the forecast for next weekend is 17 degrees and wet. The Sunday Roast sounds nice, but there's not going to be any sunbathing :(
Was there

Went to Spielplatz yesterday and had a real pleasant time in the sun and pool.
Spoke to lady on reception about 7th. She said you will all be most welcome.
The cafe will be open lunch time on that day. They are serving a roast beef dinner with trimmings. If you wish to partake, please ring Spielplatz and order in advance. Otherwise, sandwiches and the usual are on offer without booking. Tea/coffee and bar open as usual.
Sun beds are in short supply here, if you dont want to sit on hard benches or lay on a towel on what may be wet grass, take a fold up chair bed with you.
Have a good day. Am still trying to negotiate a day off. [hello wall - Denny calling]

Suggested day meet at Spielplatz for ITB members.
This is not an official meeting just an opportunity for a day out with other Buffers.
As stated in my forum post this would also be weather permitting for me as I don't intend to be there on my own if others decide not to attend due to inclement weather conditions.
It will be your own responsibility to book your visit with Spielplatz.

Edit 1st September - EVENT POSTPONED DUE TO POOR WEATHER FORECAST.
