Merryhill 2007 Music Fest

Submitted by ZebbCouple on Sat, 11/08/2007 - 1:33pm.

Hi all,
What a really enjoyable time last weekend at Merryhill for the Music Fest.
Arrived on the Thursday in the rain and as look would have it a couple we know had arrived in the morning.

By the time the “T” was drunk the weather started to clear and the tent went up in the dry.
The next couple of days were nice and sunny and to be able to sit around and chat with some acquaintances we have made on the Internet.

Thursday night saw the Karaoke machine in full use and a few good tunes as ever being given the everyman’s rendition.

Friday was a day of sunshine with more friends arriving and on the evening the ABBA night was in full swing.
Never seen so many ABBA costumes in one place.

Saturday saw the sun rising and the odd fluffy white thing float by a few droplets fell from the sky but that did not bother us.
The evening entertainment was good, with a 60’s theme and the top of the bill was “The Fortune”
Saturday evening the heavens did open for about 8 hours.

Sunday morning the rains had stopped and the sun was out again.
By lunchtime people with long journeys had packed up and the site was starting to empty.
We to had dropped the tent and packed up the car, leaving putting clothes on until we had to.
Strange feeling.

To any others that where at Merryhill I hope you enjoyed it as much as wee did.

A big thanks to the people at Merryhill for a truly fabulous weekend and as that well know movie saying goes “We Will Be Back”
That is if they will let the crowd at the top of the field return.
