Airport Security...
Submitted by Shamu on Thu, 28/01/2010 - 8:30pmIn the course of a single trip to South America recently I was body searched, that is: pulled aside, waited for an operative and 'patted down' and foot swabbed 5 times on the outward and 5 times on the return journey. I suppose a bald, fat, one legged Irishman must be high on the list of high risk security profiles.....
How much time and trouble and expensive body scanners would it save on body searches if we all stripped off when we entered an airport before going through security and on to our flight? ...of course they'd have to keep the terminals warmer...!
:D
Well we're due some sunshine......
Submitted by Shamu on Sun, 24/01/2010 - 5:51pmAfter all this snow and now the rain has set in, maybe we are due for a fine sunny Spring and Summer....?
Go on, if you believe in it, it will happen......lol
Cheers

Naturism - nature or nurture?
Submitted by Shamu on Wed, 30/09/2009 - 10:48pmIs wanting to be naked all the time a genetic disposition or a cultural phenomenon?
I have just watched the first 'Twins' programme on BBC1 and they didn't ask this question. I don't know why they just didn't. It seems that many behaviours and personality traits are strongly influenced by genetics not just physical attributes or probabilities of developing diseases.
There are few examples of 100% genetic correlations in behaviours between identical twins. But there are many examples where behaviours are similar between them even where they have been brought up in different cultures.
I am from a large family and we were not brought up as naturists. However I have always liked being naked from being a very small boy and would take every opportunity take my clothes off. Whenever I was alone at home or in my room I would strip off. I have slept in the nude all my life as far as I can remember only wearing pyjamas when I was in hospital.
So I wonder.......nature or nurture?

Norfolk Trip
Submitted by Shamu on Wed, 23/09/2009 - 3:59pmWhat a great month it's been. We are just back from 4 weeks in North Norfolk in the caravan. We only had one evening of rain, great for us but not for the local gardens and farms which are looking a bit partched. The warm Southwesterly breezea kept us all warm and cosy even at Holkham naturist beach a place well known for cool Northerly breezes (all the way unobstructed from the North Pole....) Who needs the South of France!
Off to Norfok
Submitted by Shamu on Sun, 16/08/2009 - 9:49amWe're off on our Autumn migration next week with the caravan. I hope to spend a some nice days at Holkham (with the windbreak...) while my wife goes birding, poor her.
If anyone from ITB see me there say 'hello', I'll be the big guy with one leg....lol
Turned out nice again.....
Submitted by Shamu on Fri, 14/08/2009 - 9:43amLovely day in Bolton for some nude gardening....I hope it's the same for you :D
Bideford and Ilfracombe
Submitted by Shamu on Tue, 11/08/2009 - 8:53amWell what can I say about my trip to North Devon......mmmmmm
It's a long way from Lancashire....it's very scenic....
and while we were there very wet! I think we averaged 2-3 inches of rain most days and 30-40mph winds on the others....lol
the hospitality was great and sympathetic wherever we went, unfortunately all our beach days intended for Wild Pear Beach were non-starters for a nude days at the beach.
For all that we had a great time and Devon is an excellent place to go.
